Highmark, a health-insurance company in Pittsburgh, plans to give $100-million over the next five years to programs that focus on children’s health issues in Pennsylvania, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
The money will be distributed through the company’s foundation and focus on efforts that help improve children’s nutrition, physical activity, and self-esteem, as well as projects that prevent bullying and aid grieving children.
Last year, the foundation awarded approximately $4.7-million in grants to health-care groups in Pennsylvania.
