International Support for Darfur Weakens
April 6, 2006
According to a Unicef official, foreign support for the aid organization’s programs in the Darfur region of Sudan are drying up, reports Reuters. The charity said it had received less than a third of the funds it needs to provide aid to the region.
“Donors are just not coming up with the money,” said Dan Toole, head of emergency programs. “I can understand that they are fed up. But this is people’s lives.”
