Harvard University will announce Monday a $26-million donation from the Pershing Square Foundation, led by billionaire financier Bill Ackman and his wife, Karen, The Wall Street Journal writes.

The bulk of the gift, $17-million, will support expansion of Harvard’s Foundations of Human Behavior Initiative, an interdisciplinary effort to study the economic, behavioral, and psychological factors that influence human behavior. The remainder will be used to finance a chair in global health at Harvard Medical School and to benefit the university’s crew team.

Mr. Ackman rowed for Harvard, where he earned his undergraduate degree and a master’s in business administration. He and Ms. Ackman met at the university when both were pursuing their graduate degrees.
