IRS Issues Compendium of Studies on Charities

September 5, 2002 | Read Time: 1 minute

The Internal Revenue Service has released a compilation of previously published research data on tax-exempt organizations.

The 850-page volume, which contains three dozen articles and papers, provides information on charities, private foundations, unrelated-business income taxes, and charitable remainder trusts.

Most of the articles on those topics were originally published in the IRS’s Statistics of Income Bulletin, a quarterly publication. The volume also contains papers related to nonprofit organizations and philanthropy that present the results of research conducted using Statistics of Income data.

Free copies of the Compendium of Studies of Tax-Exempt Organizations, 1989-1998, Publication 1416, are available from the Director, Statistics of Income (SOI) Division, N:ADC:R:S, Internal Revenue Service, P.O. Box 2608, Washington, D.C. 20013-2608; (202) 874-0410; fax (202) 874-0964.
