Jewish Groups Mount Appeals for Israeli Rocket Victims

July 14, 2014 | Read Time: 1 minute

American Jewish charities are sending out emergency appeals to North American Jews to raise money for Israelis affected by Hamas rocket attacks amid the escalating Gaza conflict, Haaretz reports.

The Jewish Federations of North America, working with the Reform and Conservative movements, is running the largest such campaign, Stop the Sirens, to provide safety equipment, trauma counseling, and other services to Israelis coping with rocket fire and the country’s military mobilization.

Hadassah, B’nai B’rith International, the Orthodox Union, and other groups have also launched appeals to help children and families in the conflict zone with emergency shelter, medical supplies and treatment, and psychological aid.
