Judge Turns Down Muslim Charity’s Request

A Muslim charity’s request to declassify evidence collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been rejected by a federal judge in Dallas, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The Holy Land Foundation, formerly one of the nation’s largest Muslim charities, and seven of its officials, are charged with giving money to overseas organizations controlled by the suspected terrorist group Hamas.
Holy Land asked to have declassified a decade’s worth of FBI surveillance based on its discovery of a document that falsely accused two officials of making anti-Semitic remarks.
The judge denied the request, but said the falsified document was disturbing. He instructed the lawyers of the Muslim organization to renew their request if they found evidence of a “widespread problem” with government documents.
