Katrina Fund Director Steps Down
July 17, 2006
Mary Ann Wyrsch, the executive director of the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund, abruptly resigned on Friday, after seven of nine religious leaders quit a committee that was advising the fund, reports the Associated Press.
The religious leaders had complained that the Washington office of the Katrina fund had “undermined their grant-making decisions,” the news service said.
Ms. Wyrsch will be succeeded by Constance Berry Newman, who recently served as U.S. assistant secretary of state for African affairs.
