Los Angeles Charity Executive Faces Charges

A Los Angeles man who sought to help the families of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan by flying them to Disneyland has been sued by a former employer for failure to repay advance commissions—the latest incident in his long legal history, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Michael Kerr allegedly pocketed a $6,000 bonus from a former employer. Another former employer sued Mr. Kerr in 2000, in an apparently similar case, the article notes, in which Mr. Kerr was ordered to pay $78,000.
The latest legal tiff comes shortly after California’s attorney general began scrutinizing the financial records of Mr. Kerr’s nonprofit group, the M. Scott Kerr Foundation. No misconduct was found.
Mr. Kerr says former employers misrepresented him.
