Luring Young Donors With Fun

It takes a little more effort to reach young donors, but many Atlanta charities are trying to have fun while doing so, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Local arts groups have sponsored a diverse calendar of events, such as martini mixers, participatory theater, and a program of video-game-inspired music at the symphony in hopes of appealing to donors under age 35. Much of the money comes in small chunks, as little as $10 per donor, but the groups have raised tens of thousands of dollars overall.
Realizing that young people crave social contact, the arts groups have sought to connect young donors with both beneficiaries, such as artists they helped support through giving, and one another, through parties for people who like the same kind of art.
