The McKnight Foundation, in Minneapolis, is embroiled in a legal battle over the will of its founder, James H. Binger, the former chairman of Honeywell who died in 2004 at age 88, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Relatives of Mr. Binger, who oversee the foundation, went to court to contest a change in his will that left his longtime mistress, Jane K. Mauer, property valued at up to $60-million, the newspaper says. Family members say the property should have gone to the foundation and that Mr. Binger may have been suffering from dementia in his final months when he changed the will. Ms. Mauer contends that the family resented her relationship with Mr. Binger and says the legal action is motivated by spite.
