Media Executive Gives $105-Million for Medical Research and Care

Sumner M. Redstone, chairman of Viacom and the CBS Corporation, has given $105-million in grants divided among three health-care organizations, reports PRNewswire.
The grants, made through the Sumner M. Redstone Charitable Foundation, will support research and improvements in patient care in the areas of cancer and burn recovery.
The three recipients are the Cedars-Sinai Prostate Cancer Center, in Los Angeles; FasterCures/The Center for Accelerating Medical Solutions, in Washington; and Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston. Each organization will receive $35-million, to be paid out over five years.
