Mergers Announced by Charities

Arundel Habitat for Humanity, in Arnold, Md., and Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity, in Baltimore have merged.

Achieva, in Pittsburgh, has merged with The Arc of Westmoreland, in Greensburg, Pa. Both groups help mentally disabled people.

Centro Nueva Creacion and Lutheran Settlement House, both in Philadelphia, have merged.

Clarence Foundation and the Foundation for Sustainable Development, both in San Francisco, plan to merge into one international aid organization.

Compas and Young Audiences of Minnesota, both arts-education organizations in St. Paul, Minn., have merged and will operate under the former organization’s name.

Copeland Community Center and Valley Youth Center, youth organizations in Duluth, Minn., plan to merge before the end of September.

Emergency Winter Shelter and Uptown Shelter, two Charlotte, N.C., homeless shelters for men, have merged.

High 5 Tickets to the Arts, a New York group that provides $5 tickets to high-school students, has merged with ArtsConnection, a New York arts-education organization.

International Institute of Erie, a Pennsylvania group that helps refugees resettle, plans to merge with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, in Arlington, Va.

Join Together, of Boston, has merged with the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University, in New York.

Potomac Hospital, in Woodbridge, Va., will merge with Sentara Healthcare, in Norfolk, Va. The merger is pending approval by federal and state officials.

Roger Williams Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Health Services of Rhode Island, both in Providence, plan to merge to become CharterCare Health Partners.

Wellness Community, in Hockessin, Del., has merged with Gilda’s Club, in New York. Both groups offer services to people suffering from cancer.

Youth Villages, based in Memphis, plans to merge with Inner Harbor, in Douglasville, Ga. Both groups provide services for needy youths.
