Mexican Billionaire Pledges $2.5-Billion to Charities

Carlos Slim, a businessman in Mexico, plans to donate $2.5-billion to his charitable foundation, reports The Washington Post.

Mr. Slim’s foundation makes grants to groups that provide education and health-care services to the poor. The foundation previously had assets of $300-million.
