NGO Connection, a new Web site created by the Microsoft Corporation, brings together information about the company’s grant making and software-donation program with case studies that show how nonprofit organizations have used technology to improve their operations.
The site is scheduled to be translated into Arabic, French, German, Russian, and Spanish later this summer, with more languages to come.
The Redmond, Wash., company has been working with TechSoup, a nonprofit technology organization, to expand its software-donation program internationally. It is now available in 17 countries.
“This is an opportunity for us to scale our work, and to scale it around the world,” Pamela S. Passman, a corporate vice president at Microsoft, says about the new Web site. “The NGO community all over the world are very significant parts of society, parts of the economy, and we recognize the role that information technology can play.”
