Minn. Restores Funds for Food-Pantry Program

Money for a Minnesota food-bank-supply program that was suspended due to the state government shutdown will be resumed following a plea from a state hunger group, the Star Tribune reports.

A Minnesota judge has ordered that only “critical [state] functions” be maintained during the shutdown triggered Friday by the failure of Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and Republican state legislators to break a budget impasse. However, a court-appointed official is examining requests for special exceptions.
