A Montana-born businessman has pledged $50-million to Montana State University’s College of Engineering to support construction of an interdisciplinary classroom and laboratory building, Bozeman television station KBZK reports.
The new facility will be called the Norm Asbjornson Innovation Center in recognition of the gift, announced Monday at a press conference on the Bozeman campus.
Mr. Asbjornson, who graduated from Montana State in 1960 with a degree in mechanical engineering, founded AAON, a Tulsa, Okla.-based maker of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning products. He is a former chairman of the board of the MSU Alumni Foundation, through which the gift will be made.
