A large majority of MBA students support the concept of corporate social responsibility, according to a survey reported on by The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The online survey, conducted by NetImpact, was presented during “Business as an Agent of World Benefit,” a three-day global conference at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland.
NetImpact is a network of corporate executives and students interested in using business for positive economic, environmental, and social impact.
Of the more than 2,100 respondents—MBA students in the United States and Canada—81 percent agreed that businesses should work to better society, and 89 percent said business leaders should at least partly base decisions on environmental and social effects. Sixty percent said that this approach could yield a profit.
