Achieving Student Success Through Excellence in Teaching (Pittsburgh): Appointed Helen Sobehart, president of Cardinal Stritch U. (Milwaukee), to be executive director. Ms. Sobehart succeeds Reeny Davison, who is retiring.
American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado (Denver): Appointed Stephen Meswarb, campaign manager at the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation (New York), to be development director.
Armitage Foundation /Armitage Gone Dance (New York): Announced the resignation of Diane Rosenblatt, executive director.
Birthright Israel Next (New York): Appointed Morlie Levin, national executive director of Hadassah: the Women’s Zionist Organization of America (New York), to be chief executive officer. Birthright Israel Next helps Jewish adults ages 24 to 30 maintain their connections to Jewish life and culture. (See article at right.)
Boys’ Club of New York: Appointed Stephen Tosh, executive director and chief executive officer of the Phipps Community Development Corporation (New York), to be executive director.
Center for Children and Young Adults (Marietta, Ga.): Appointed Kimberley Shellman-Borna, executive director of the Juvenile Justice Fund (Atlanta), to be chief executive officer.
Dartmouth College (Hanover, N.H.): Appointed Carolyn A. Pelzel, vice president for development, to be senior vice president for advancement.
DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative (Washington): Appointed Louise Kennelly, a director at the National High School Center at the American Institutes for Research (Washington), to be executive director.
Equal Rights Center (Washington): Appointed Toral Patel, development director at Brooklyn Community Housing and Services (N.Y.), to be development manager.
FEES Health and Human Services System (New York): Appointed Michael Ostroff, owner of his own fund-raising consulting firm in Boca Raton, Fla., to be chief development officer.
Flynn Center for the Performing Arts (Burlington, Vt.): Appointed John Killacky, program officer at the San Francisco Foundation, to be chief executive officer and executive director. Mr. Killacky succeeds Andrea Rogers, who is retiring. This group provides advocacy, education, and research services for musicians.
Future of Music Coalition (Washington): Appointed Lissa Rosenthal, principal at Relish Public Relations (Pittsburgh), to be executive director.
Girls Inc. (New York): Appointed Judy Vredenburgh, former president and chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (Philadelphia), to be president and chief executive officer. She succeeds Joyce M. Roché, who is retiring.
Groundfire (Seattle): Appointed Neal Myrick, managing director of technology at Casey Family Programs (Seattle), to be executive director. This nonprofit organization provides technology consulting services for environmental groups.
Interact (Raleigh, N.C.): Announced the resignation of Adam Hartzell, executive director. Mr. Hartzell will become senior deputy attorney general in the Consumer Protection Division at the North Carolina Department of Justice (Raleigh). Kathy Johnson, associate executive director, will serve as interim executive director. Interact helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Men Can Stop Rape (Washington): Appointed Neil Irvin, senior director of programs, to be executive director.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (Irving, Tex.): Appointed Kimberly Simpson Earle, chief operating officer at Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Dallas), to be chief executive officer. She succeeds Charles A. Hurley, who is retiring.
New York Public Library, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture: Announced the retirement of Howard Dodson Jr., director, effective in February.
Oklahoma Humanities Council (Oklahoma City): Appointed Traci Jinkens, development officer, to be marketing and development director.
Pro Mujer (New York): Appointed Tanya Mujica Keenan, director of development for individual giving at New York U., to be chief development and communications officer. Pro Mujer provides business training, small loans, and preventive health care to needy women in Latin America.
San Francisco Film Society: Appointed Susan J. Martin, interim director of development at the Contemporary Jewish Museum (San Francisco) and former campaign director at Women Moving Millions (San Francisco), to be director of development.
Temple U., Fox School of Business (Philadelphia): Appointed Richard Van Fossen Jr., director of major gifts at St. Joseph’s Preparatory School (Philadelphia), to be director of development.
