The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation has teamed up with NBC and the Advertising Council in a campaign to educate teen-agers on ways to avoid pregnancy.
The campaign includes public-service announcements to be aired on NBC televsion stations, a contest among teen-agers in high school and junior high school to create their own public-service announcements on the subject, and an effort to promote local pregnancy-prevention programs.
NBC is airing the PSA’s as part of its “The More You Know” campaign, which features network stars talking in brief segments about such topics as violence prevention, substance abuse, and teacher appreciation. The foundation worked with the network and the Ad Council to make sure that the PSA’s on teen-age pregnancy are based on scientific research.
