New Leaders at the Marshall Project and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The Marshall Project

Carroll Bogert, deputy executive director of external relations at Human Rights Watch, was appointed president of the Marshall Project, a nonprofit news organization that focuses on criminal justice.

Ms. Bogert joined Human Rights Watch in 1998. While there, she extended the media staff from two to 30 and established a multimedia division and a digital team that runs websites in seven languages. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, she was a foreign correspondent for Newsweek.

Independent Sector

Dan Cardinali, president of Communities in Schools, was named chief executive.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Laurie Glimcher, the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss dean at Weill Cornell Medical College and provost for medical affairs at Cornell University, will be chief executive.

Other notable changes:

Michelle Beck, director of development at Three Square Food Bank, was promoted to chief development officer.

Rosemary Feal, executive director of the Modern Language Association of America, will step down in 2017.

Adie Shore, a freelance grant writer, was appointed grants director at Hudson Valley Community Services.
