New Mutual Funds Help Charities

Several new mutual funds plan to give a portion of their earnings to charitable causes, The Wall Street Journal reports.

For example, American Century Investments next week plans to start a group of funds, called Livestrong, that will support the Lance Armstrong Foundation, an organization the cyclist founded to help people with cancer.

Giordano Asset Management, in Annapolis, Md., plans to donate a portion of its mutual-fee earnings to charities it has not yet named. (A paid subscription is required to view this article).
