Planned-giving organizations in Canada, Europe, and the United States have joined together to create an international body to promote their industry.
The International Gift Planning Alliance seeks to create an effective link between charitable-gift planners worldwide, and to increase cooperation on international issues affecting planned giving.
The alliance will be administered by the National Committee on Planned Giving, in Indianapolis. Its other members are the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the European Association for Planned Giving.
“We are excited about the alliance because, by working together, we can help to increase charitable giving around the world by better educating and informing donors and fund raisers about how to include philanthropy in their financial plans,” said Tanya Howe Johnson, who directs the National Committee on Planned Giving.
