N.H. Legislators Back Stricter Oversight of Charity Gaming
June 5, 2014
New Hampshire’s House and Senate passed a bill Wednesday that would tighten bookkeeping and reporting requirements for casino-style events staged on behalf of nonprofit groups, the Associated Press reports.
Now headed to the governor’s desk, the measure also calls for deeper background investigations by the state’s attorney general and establishes a commission to determine a system for ensuring that gambling provides charities with money they need to survive.
