Nike Founder Gives $105-Million to Stanford University

Philip H. Knight, founder of Nike, has donated $105-million to his alma mater, Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, a gift believed to be the largest ever made to a business school, according to Stanford University
Mr. Knight graduated from the institution in 1962. Most of his gift, $100-million, will go toward the construction of the business school’s new campus, expected to begin in 2008. The new facility will be named the Knight Management Center.
The remainder of the gift, $5-million, will be used to match funds from other donors for an endowment to finance professorships.
