Beneficiary: Motion Picture & Television Fund Foundation

Background: Mr. Bing is a filmmaker, businessman, and heir to the fortune of Leo S. Bing, his grandfather and a co-founder of Bing & Bing, a prominent real-estate company of the early 20th century.

Mr. Bing, 47, pledged $30-million to the Motion Picture & Television Fund Foundation to endow the organization’s work of providing health care and other types of assistance to elderly people who worked in film and television.

A member of the foundation’s board, Mr. Bing has supported the nonprofit in previous years. The foundation will receive his most recent donation upon his death.
