Background: Mr. Zuckerman co-founded Boston Properties, a real-estate investment firm, and is chairman and editor-in-chief of U.S. News and World Report and publisher of the New York Daily News.

Mr. Zuckerman, 65, pledged $200-million to Columbia University to endow a new neuroscience research institute, which has been named the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute. He will pay the commitment over an unspecified period of years.
