Background: The Woodmans founded GoPro, a company that creates high-definition cameras.

Nicholas Woodman, 39, and his wife, Jill, 38, gave about 5.8-million shares of GoPro stock valued at $500-million to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to start a donor-advised fund they are calling the Jill + Nicholas Woodman Foundation. The Woodmans have been quiet about their giving goals, but foundation officials said they are in the process of developing their giving strategy.
