San Francisco Food Bank

Description: More than 200 cans are attached to the wall in the lobby of the food bank’s new warehouse.

Purpose: To thank donors who gave $1,000 or more to an $8.6-million capital campaign for the warehouse.

Number of donors included: 210

How donors are honored: Donors’ names are printed on the bottoms of the food cans, which are placed side by side to form a square wall hanging.

Creative strategy: To remind people that a gift to the charity helps provide food to people who might otherwise go hungry.
