Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital(Edmonton, Canada)

Description: A mock pinball machine is mounted on a wall in the waiting area of the pediatric ward.

Purpose: To acknowledge donors who gave $100 or more to a campaign that raised $756,000 to help renovate the unit.

Number of donors included: 245

How donors are honored: Donors’ names appear on the board of the pinball machine. When a person pushes a lever to release the ball, the board lights up as the ball travels over it.

Creative strategy: To find a design that would both appeal to donors and provide a lighthearted touch to kids and adults who visit the pediatric unit.
