National Science Center/Fort Discovery(Augusta, Ga.)

Description: A replica of the solar system, made of brushed blue-green aluminum, is mounted on a wall near the museum’s entrance.

Purpose: To thank donors who gave $1,000 or more to pay for renovation of the center’s building.

Number of donors included: Approximately 200

How donors are honored: Each planet is labeled with a range of gift sizes. Donors’ names, printed in white, are placed like stars around the planet that represents the amount they contributed.

Creative strategy: To show that donors were the stars who made the renovation possible.
