NONPROFIT LOBBYING

A Los Angeles ethics commissioner has suggested that leaders of nonprofit groups who frequently lobby City Hall, as well as heads of homeowner organizations and union activists, be required to register as lobbyists and disclose their activities, reports the Los Angeles Times. The proposal by Commissioner Sean Treglia drew criticisms from some other city officials who said it would overload the city panel with meaningless registrations.
