NORWEGIAN MOOSE PROJECT

March 3, 2006

A Norwegian town’s unique fund-raising effort to track its moose population by selling naming rights to each animal has proven so popular that there are only “four or five” left unnamed in the Vegaarshei township in southern Norway, reports the Associated Press. Large corporate sponsors, in particular, have been clamoring to have the animals bear their brand. For approximately $740 dollars, donors can follow the movements of their moose online, although they’re prohibited from visiting them in their habitat.
