NY Charity Benefits From Real-Estate Deals

Douglas Lasdon, founder of the Urban Justice Center, in New York, has found success for his organization through shrewd real-estate investments, reports The New York Times.
The charity recently sold its office condo for 10 times what it had paid a decade ago, $5.7-million.
The center, which supports the city’s homeless, will use some of the money from the sale to cover rent at its new, bigger space, the paper reports, as well as pay for new and expanded programs.
