April 12, 2013 | Read Time: 1 minute

President Obama and his wife, Michelle, donated $150,034 to 33 charities last year, or 24.6 percent of their adjusted gross income, according to tax forms released today.

The largest gift, $103,871, went to the Fisher House Foundation, a group that provides free or low-cost housing to military personnel and their families while they are receiving treatment at military medical centers.

The Obamas made donations of $100 to $5,000 to a mix of health, education, and social-service organizations, including the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and United Negro College Fund.

Their adjusted gross income was $608,611.

President Obama and the First Lady gave less to charity in 2012 than in 2011, when their donations totaled $172,130. However, the 2011 gifts represented a smaller share of their income, 22 percent.

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, contributed $7,190 to charity in 2012, or about 1.8 percent of their adjusted gross income of $385,072, their tax forms show.
