DONATIONS REPORTED BY 455 UNITED WAYS FOR 2006-7
United Ways across the country raised $4.1-billion in the 2006-7 campaign season. The 2.7-percent increase barely outpaced inflation. Sixty percent of the nation’s 1,294 local United Ways increased donations in 2006, compared with the 56 percent that did so in 2005.
Following are totals for 455 United Ways, supplied by United Way of America.
The figures show money raised from on-the-job drives, appeals to foundations, and other solicitations. They also include the proceeds from state and federal government campaigns that were run by United Way. The total revenue figure includes those funds, plus money brought in from corporate sponsorships, planned and major gifts and other sources. They do not include government grants.
