Our Policy on Correcting Errors
December 4, 2019 | Read Time: 1 minute

In Tuesday’s newsletter, we noted that we had made two significant errors, but we violated our own editorial standards by not placing them more prominently to ensure all readers saw them. We noted that in our Elsewhere Online section, we wrongly placed an article about the philanthropist Bill Cummings in an obituary section, even though he is alive and well (and made us aware of the error immediately). And we pointed out that we mistakenly referred to the Council on Foundations when we meant the Council on Foreign Relations in an item about a donation from Jeffrey Epstein. We strive to make our corrections timely, clear, and easy for all to see — and we appreciate it when readers notify us about mistakes. Always feel free to send your corrections directly to me.
