Chautauqua Institution (N.Y.): Appointed Thomas M. Becker, chief executive officer of the Chautauqua Foundation and executive vice president of the institution, to be president. He succeeds Scott McVay, who has completed a three-year term as president. The Chautauqua Institution offers arts, educational, and recreational programs.
Children’s Cancer Association (Portland, Ore.): Appointed Sandra Koelle-Stewart, director of development and marketing at the Hearing & Speech Institute (Portland), to be director of development.
Christian Church Foundation (Indianapolis): Appointed Gary W. Kidwell, senior vice president for major gifts, to be president. He succeeds James P. Johnson, who retired in September.
Columbus Speech and Hearing Center (Ohio): Appointed Dawn Gleason, acting president and chief executive officer, to be president and chief executive officer.
Consumers Union (Yonkers, N.Y.): Appointed Martin Kagan, managing director of the John Anson Ford Theatre and Ford Theatre Foundation (Los Angeles), to be senior director of development. Consumers Union is a consumer-protection organization that publishes Consumer Reports magazine.
Corporation for Supportive Housing (Oakland, Calif.): Appointed Kelly Kent, manager of public policy and housing specialist at the AIDS Project Los Angeles, to be associate director of the Indianapolis office.
Dallas Theater Center: Appointed Mark Hadley, interim managing director, to be managing director. He succeeds Edith Love, who resigned in January.
Girl Scouts of the USA (New York): Appointed Courtney Q. Shore, senior vice president and managing director at Rare Medium (New York), to be senior vice president of communications and marketing.
Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services (Alexandria, Va.): Appointed Karen Jupiter, program manager for membership and the annual fund at the Museum of Science (Boston), to be director of development.
Grameen Foundation USA (Washington): Appointed Randi Nordeen, director of development at Sojourners (Washington), to be director of development. The Grameen Foundation works in partnership with the Grameen Bank to provide loans to poor people worldwide.
Humane Society of Greater Miami: Appointed Sallie Byrd, a regional relationship manager at the American Cancer Society’s Florida Division (Tampa), to be executive director.
Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles: Appointed Robin Franko, vice president of ways and means at Congregation Ner Tamid of the South Bay (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.), to be South Bay region director.
Mayo Foundation (Rochester, Minn.): Appointed Michael J. McNamara, development officer, to be chair of the department of development.
National Council of Churches (New York): Appointed the Rev. Paul H. Sherry, former president of the United Church of Christ (Cleveland), to be special assistant to the general secretary. In that position, a one-year appointment, he will head the council’s Mobilization to Overcome Poverty program.
North County Health Services (San Marcos, Calif.): Appointed Victor M. Botello, vice president of development at the Parent Institute (San Diego), to be director of development.
Points of Light Foundation (Washington): Appointed Jared Hughes, director of development at the Methodist Home of the District of Columbia, to be director of corporate relations for both the foundation and its affiliated Volunteer Center National Network.
Resources for the Future (Washington): Appointed Lesli A. Creedon, director of development and corporate secretary, to be vice president for external affairs.
