Actors’ Fund of America (New York): Appointed Brian Stokes Mitchell, a Tony Award-winning actor based in New York, to be president. He succeeds Tom Dillon, who will become president emeritus after leading the organization for 15 years.

AIDS Foundation of Chicago: Appointed Casey Klarich, director of corporate and foundation relations, to be director of development.

American Cancer Society Foundation (Washington): Appointed Mark J. Zachary, senior vice president at Ketchum Inc. (Pittsburgh), to be director of philanthropic consulting.

Carmen Pampa Fund (Minneapolis): Appointed Kathi Eilers, development manager at the Page Education Foundation (Minneapolis), to be executive director. The Carmen Pampa Fund raises money for the Unidad Académia Campesina-Carmen Pampa, in Bolivia.

Kevin Coleman Foundation (Kent, Ohio): Appointed Rochelle D. Fisher, director of programs and director of development at the Akron Urban League (Ohio), to be director of foundation development. The foundation is the fund-raising arm of Coleman Professional Services, which provides services to individuals with mental-health, substance-abuse, and vocational-rehabilitation needs.

Education Commission of the States (Denver): Announced the death of Frank Newman, who served as president from 1985 to 1999. He died May 29 in Providence, R.I., at age 77.

Groton School (Mass.): Appointed John MacEachern, director of development at the Roxbury Latin School (West Roxbury, Mass.), to be director of alumni affairs and development.

Heads Up (Washington): Appointed Monica Mills, vice president of communications at Defenders of Wildlife (Washington), to be chief operating officer. Heads Up runs education and mentoring programs for poor children in Washington.

International Center for Journalists (Washington): Appointed Eileen O’Connor, a media consultant based in Washington and a former national correspondent for CNN (Washington), to be president. She succeeds David Anable, who is retiring after seven years as president.

Madison Square Boys & Girls Club (New York): Appointed Joseph Patuleia, principal of the Peabody Veterans High School (Peabody, Mass.), to be executive director.

Mental Health Center of Boulder County (Colo.): Appointed Kitty L. deKieffer, development and public-information director, also to be executive director of the Boulder County Mental Health Foundation.

Minnesota Medical Foundation (Minneapolis): Appointed Carl J. Bendorf, assistant vice president for medical-center development at the U. of Iowa Foundation (Iowa City), to be vice president of development, effective August 2.

National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering (White Plains, N.Y.): Appointed John A. Lubbe, vice president of fund development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (Philadelphia), to be vice president of resource development.

National Youth Leadership Council (St. Paul): Appointed Jim Pitofsky, a partner at the Social Enterprise Alliance (San Francisco), to be deputy director.

New York Public Library: Appointed Susan Kent, city librarian at the Los Angeles Public Library, to be director and chief executive of the Branch Libraries, effective September 1.

Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina (Research Triangle Park): Appointed Rick Weddle, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, to be president and chief executive officer, effective later this year. He will succeed Jim Roberson, who will serve as a consultant to the organization.

Tacoma Art Museum (Wash.): Announced the resignation of Janeanne A. Upp, executive director, effective July 2. Rod Bigelow, chief financial officer, will serve as interim director.

Tikva Children’s Home (Odessa, Ukraine): Appointed Emily J. Lehrman, a senior associate at Holt, Wexler & Farnam (New Haven, Conn.), to be director of strategic development and operations in the New York office. Tikva Children’s Home provides social services to homeless and abused Jewish children in Odessa.
