Academics in Motion (New York): Appointed Jim Presbrey, co-founder of the organization and chief executive officer of Extra Hands and the Jack Orchard ALS Foundation (St. Louis), to be vice president. Academics in Motion promotes students’ participation in sports as a way to boost academic performance at poorly financed high schools.

Advertising Icon Museum (Kansas City, Mo.): Appointed Leslie Strube, director of development at Union Station Kansas City, to be development director.

Agenda for Children Tomorrow (New York): Appointed Linda Selvin, executive director of the International Dyslexia Association, New York Branch, to be executive director. This coalition of community and business leaders, human-service providers, and local government officials helps families in low-income neighborhoods in New York.

Alliance to Save Energy (Washington): Appointed Laura Van Wie McGrory, a program manager for the Environmental Energy Technologies Division and head of the Washington office at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, to be director of international programs.

Arizona State U. (Tempe): Appointed Jennifer Marsteen, manager of corporate and donor relations at the Arizona Humane Society (Phoenix), and Jon Meyers, associate vice president for alumni relations at the Thunderbird School of Global Management (Glendale, Ariz.), both to be senior development officers for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Durham’s Partnership for Children (N.C.): Appointed Angelica Oberleithner, program director at the Orange County Partnership for Young Children (Chapel Hill, N.C.), to be assistant director.

First Graduate (San Francisco): Appointed Thomas Ahn, managing director, to be executive director. First Graduate helps youths graduate from high school and become the first person in their families to complete college.
