American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (New York): Appointed Robert Serow, senior vice president of philanthropy and major gifts at the American Heart Association, Heritage Affiliate (New York), to be senior director of resource development.
American Friends of Tel Aviv U. (New York): Appointed Mark S. Freedman, executive director of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio, to be vice president of the Southeast region, based in Boca Raton, Fla.
amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research (New York): Appointed Bradley Jensen, director of finance and administration at the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (New York), to be chief financial officer.
AMIT (New York): Appointed William Rothchild, executive director of Toward a More Perfect Union (Boynton Beach, Fla.), to be director of special gifts. AMIT provides services to disadvantaged young people in Israel.

Chicago Lighthouse: Appointed Janet Szlyk, professor of ophthalmology and director of the Low Vision Laboratory at the U. of Illinois at Chicago, to be executive director. She succeeds Jim Kesteloot, who has retired. This organization provides clinical, educational, and vocational services to blind and visually impaired people.
Corporation for Enterprise Development (Washington): Appointed Elizabeth Coit, director of development at the Center for Community Change (Washington), to be vice president of resource development, and Rosalyn Crain, a policy associate at the National Housing Conference, to be legislative manager, a newly created position. This organization offers low-cost housing and business-development help to poor people.
Families First (Atlanta): Announced the retirement of Patricia Showell, president and chief executive officer, effective in June 2010. Families First provides children and families with adoption, counseling, foster-care, and other services.
Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund (Boston): Appointed Sarah C. Libbey, interim president and former senior vice president of outreach and program development, to be president.
