American Constitution Society for Law and Policy (Washington): Appointed Caroline Fredrickson, director of the American Civil Liberties Union’s Washington Legislative Office, to be executive director.

American National Red Cross (Washington): Appointed Derrick Chubbs, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of Central Texas (Austin), to be division vice president for operations in Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas, based in Austin.

American Red Cross of Central Texas (Austin): Appointed Elaine Acker, director of development and communications, to be chief executive officer.

Asia Foundation (San Francisco): Appointed Richard L. Smith, a program director in Pakistan for the U.S. Agency for International Development, to be country representative in Afghanistan.

Bellevue Arts Museum (Wash.): Appointed Mark Crawford, interim executive director, to be executive director. Previously he was executive director of the Committee for Children (Seattle).

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (Philadelphia): Appointed Karen Mathis, executive director of the Central European and Eurasian Initiative Institute (Prague), to be president and chief executive officer.

Cares Foundation (Union, N.J.): Appointed Dina M. Matos, executive director of the Columbus Hospital Foundation (Newark, N.J.), to be executive director. This organization raises money and advocates in behalf of people affected by congenital adrenal hyperplasia, a hormone disorder.

Center for Family Life (New York): Announced the death of one of its founders, Sister Mary Paul Janchill, on May 7. She was 88.

Children’s Defense Fund (Washington): Appointed Cathy Grace, director of the Early Childhood Institute and a professor in the College of Education at Mississippi State U., to be director of early-childhood-development policy.

Columbia College Chicago: Appointed Diane L. Doyne, senior director for marketing and communications at Northwestern U. Law School (Chicago), to be associate vice president of public relations, marketing, and advertising in the office of institutional advancement.

Foundation for Daytona State College (Daytona Beach, Fla.): Appointed Donna Sue Sanders, former director of community and local-government affairs at the International Speedway Corporation (Daytona Beach), to be executive director. She was also appointed vice president of institutional advancement for the college.

Grameen Foundation (Washington): Appointed Peter Bladin, director of the Grameen Technology Center, to be executive vice president for programs and regions; Jennifer Meehan, director of the organization’s Capital Markets Group and Strategic Planning Unit, to be regional chief executive officer for Asia; and Camilla Nestor, director of the organization’s Capital Management and Advisory Center, to be vice president for microfinance.

Heifer International Foundation (Little Rock, Ark.): Appointed Ardyth Neill, chief financial officer, to be acting president and chief executive officer. Ms. Neill succeeds Janet K. Ginn, who has resigned.

Holy Cross College (Notre Dame, Ind.): Appointed Robert Kloska, director of campus ministry, to be vice president for mission advancement.

Island Harvest (Mineola, N.Y.): Appointed Barbara N. Grodd, former senior director of development at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System Foundation (Great Neck, N.Y.), to be vice president of development. This organization collects surplus food from restaurants, farms, and other food-related businesses and distributes it to soup kitchens and food pantries.

Jewish Theological Seminary (New York): Appointed Lucy Posner, executive director of Old Westbury Hebrew Congregation (N.Y.), to be director of the Long Island/Queens regional office, and David Rosen, foundations director for Human Rights First (New York), to be director of institutional grants.

Jumpstart, Mid-Atlantic Region (New York): Appointed Janice Goldfarb, director of development at Computers for Youth (New York), to be development director.

Leadership Fort Wayne (Ind.): Appointed Becky Hill, former executive director of the YWCA of Fort Wayne (Ind.), to be program director for the Northeast Indiana Nonprofit Alliance, the leadership training arm of Leadership Fort Wayne.

Louisville Orchestra (Ky.): Appointed Robert Birman, chief operating officer, to be chief executive officer. He succeeds Brad Broecker, who has retired.

Mission Society (Norcross Ga.): Appointed the Rev. Dick McClain, executive vice president and chief operating officer, to be president, effective December 1. He succeeds Phil Granger, who will retire. This organization trains and sends Christian missionaries around the world.

Partners in School Innovation (San Francisco): Appointed Derek Mitchell, executive director of the Opportunity Zone (Upper Marlboro, Md.), to be chief executive officer.

Yivo Institute for Jewish Research (New York): Appointed Jonathan Brent, editorial director at Yale U. Press (New Haven, Conn.), to be executive director.
