Hope Community promotes affordable housing and neighborhood redevelopment in Minneapolis.
Jane Goodall Institute (Arlington, Va.): Appointed Ray Powell, executive director of Valles Caldera National Preserve (Jemez Springs, N.M.), to be regional director of Roots and Shoots, Four Corners States, based in Santa Fe, N.M. Roots and Shoots is a program that involves young people in educational volunteering projects that benefit animals and the environment.
Justice Resource Institute (Boston): Appointed Andrew Pond, chief operating officer, to be president and chief executive officer. Mr. Pond succeeds Susan Wayne, who has been appointed vice president for program development.
Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore): Appointed Robin Bisland, managing editor at the Chesapeake Bay Program (Annapolis, Md.), to be director of publications and editorial services; David R. One Family (Boston): Appointed Marjorie Clapprood, director of the One Family Scholars program, to be executive director. Ms. Clapprood succeeds Melinda Marble, acting executive director, who is returning to her post as executive director of the Paul and Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation (Boston). Also appointed: Frances Moseley, executive director of Boston Partners in Education, to be chief development officer. This organization seeks to reduce the number of homeless families in Massachusetts.
On the Rise (Cambridge, Mass.): Announced the resignation of Katya Fels, founder and executive director, effective December 31. This group provides counseling, health, and legal services to homeless women.
Oregon Food Bank (Portland): Appointed Janeen Wadsworth, director of operations at Volunteers of America (Portland), to be chief operating officer.
Pacific Legal Foundation (Sacramento): Appointed Robin L. Rivett, a principal attorney, to be president.
PATH-Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (Seattle): Appointed John G. McNeil, chief of advanced clinical development at the Dale and Betty Bumpers Vaccine Research Center at the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, Md.), to be scientific director for the Malaria Vaccine Initiative, based in Bethesda.
