Changemakers (San Francisco): Appointed Cynthia Carey-Grant, public-affairs director at the Presidio Trust (San Francisco), to be executive director. Changemakers provides financial and other types of assistance to community-based organizations.
Claremont School of Theology (Calif.): Appointed the Rev. Bronnie F. McNabb Jr., president of United Methodist Foundation of the Western North Carolina Annual Conference (Charlotte), to be chief development officer.

He succeeds Elliott Abrams, who has been appointed senior director for democracy, human rights, and international operations on the White House National Security Council.

Jane Goodall Institute (Silver Spring, Md.): Appointed Frederick G. Thompson, president and senior managing partner in the Stamford, Conn., office of Earle Palmer Brown (New York), to be president and chief operating officer. This group conducts research on chimpanzee behavior and works to conserve wildlife around the world.
