Peter Buffett, a son of the billionaire investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett is still considering what to do with the $1-billion his father gave him to commit to good works in the world, reports the Associated Press.
Peter Buffett, who runs the NoVo Foundation, which has supported projects in Milwaukee, said he and his wife, Jennifer, plan to focus their efforts on “community building” projects, an area of work that could be wide-ranging, he admits.
Peter Buffett and his two siblings each received $1-billion in stock for their foundations four months ago from their father, who at the time announced a gift of more than $30-billion to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
“It’s still sinking in, really, what potential good we could do,” Peter Buffett told the news agency. “And I almost bristle at that because who am I to define what’s good and what isn’t?”
