Prime Minister of Singapore to Give Percentage of Pay Raise to Charity

After receiving a $1.25-million salary increase, the prime minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong, will freeze his current salary at $2-million for five years and donate 60 percent of the raise amount to charity, reports the Associated Press.
The announcement comes after Reuters reported that Singapore had banned several people from other countries from speaking against big pay increases in the Singapore government at an opposition-party debate.
