March 7, 2014 | Read Time: 1 minute

The daughters of Canadian-Israeli real estate magnate David Azrieli outlined plans to the Jerusalem Post for the family to give $100-million to charities and philanthropic funds over the next three to five years.

The pledge matches total giving over the past 23 years by the the clan, its businesses, and its foundations in Canada and Israel. “We’re at a threshold, we’re at a turning point,” said Naomi Azrieli, who with her two sisters directs the family’s giving.

Nearly two-thirds of the family’s giving has directly benefited causes in Israel, particularly education. Earlier this week Mr. Azrieli donated $21-million to the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, which he attended in the 1940s. His foundations have also built programs for at-risk youth, education, and fellowships and scholarships.
