Questionnaire for Evaluating Volunteer Programs

October 2, 2003 | Read Time: 1 minute

Volunteer Management Audit, by Susan J. Ellis, offers a detailed questionnaire to help nonprofit groups evaluate their volunteer programs. Ms. Ellis, president of Energize, a training, consulting, and publishing company in Philadelphia that specializes in volunteerism, says the questionnaire will help charities better understand how they can benefit from volunteers who are recruited and trained effectively. The evaluation will also help nonprofit groups develop plans to run their volunteer programs more smoothly, Ms. Ellis writes. Besides the questionnaire, the guide, a revised version of a 1992 text, includes detailed instructions for gathering information, such as the number of hours volunteers contribute and the tasks they complete, and analyzing the results.
