RED CROSS CAMPAIGN

The American Red Cross’s interim president, Jack McGuire, said Wednesday that the charity is considering starting a campaign to raise money for efforts to improve its disaster-response capabilities, reports the Associated Press. Mr. McGuire said that the Red Cross did not have enough supplies or trained people to respond effectively to Katrina. He also attributed the charity’s shortcomings in the aftermath of the hurricane to the lack of technology available to the organization.
