Red Cross Dismisses Volunteers

The Red Cross dismissed two key leaders on Friday, amid charges of criminal activity nvolving Hurricane Katrina relief supplies, The New York Times reports.

Red Cross officials said they were investigating whether several of its paid volunteers—people who have extensive experience and training in dealing with disasters—had wrongly diverted donated supplies.
