Rep. Dan Kildee Will Become CEO of Community Foundation of Greater Flint

Community Foundation of Greater Flint

Rep. Dan Kildee of Michigan will become the next president and CEO of the $284 million community foundation after he retires from the U.S. House of Representatives later this year.

Prior to winning his congressional seat in 2012, he was president and CEO of the Center for Community Progress.


American Alliance of Museums

Marilyn Jackson will become its president and CEO in April. She will be the first person of color and first Black woman to lead the organization.

Jackson is currently the president and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center, in Louisville, Ky.

Book Trust

Patience Peabody has been named president and CEO of this literacy organization that provides free books in school classrooms. Most recently she served as the executive director of the Flamboyan Foundation.

Peabody succeeds its interim CEO, Stacey Kirkland, who will return to her role as board chair.

More New CEOs

Dedrick Asante-Muhammed, vice president of racial economic equity and research at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, will be the next president of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

Tymia Green has become executive director of Shalom House. She is the former CEO of the YWCA Gettysburg and Adams County, in Pennsylvania.

Jay Knott, chief operating officer at the Environmental Defense Fund, has been appointed president of the Metropolitan Group, a strategic and creative-services agency that works with social-change nonprofit groups.

Other Notable Appointments

Sharad Aggarwal, senior vice president of BRAC USA, is joining the Center for Disaster Philanthropy as vice president of fund management and coalition building.

Valencia Bembry has become chief development officer at Points of Light. Most recently, she was head of philanthropy at the United Nations Foundation.

Jinhee Kim has been appointed executive vice president for public events and engagement at the Aspen Institute. She was most recently chief creative officer at Events DC, a public-private partnership that organizes live community events in Washington.

Nelly Rojas-Moreno, chief operation and financial officer at LiftFund, is now chief financial officer at the National Association for Community Asset Builders.

Nakeasha Sanders-Small, general counsel for the Department of For-Hire Vehicles within the District of Columbia Government, will now serve as general counsel and corporate secretary at NeighborWorks America.

Lou Traina has been named chief advancement officer at the Immokalee Foundation. Most recently he was a philanthropic consultant who advised a variety of colleges, universities, and other nonprofit organizations on their capital campaigns.

Departure

Tanuja Dehne will step down after five years as president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation on April 1. The $308 million foundation in New Jersey has not yet announced her replacement.
